So, it all began with a dream.
A little girl, and her favorite pairs of little yellow wellies - Bertie, Lexie, Miley, and Teddy - who would come to life, and be her bestest friends for real.
They would have fun, laughter, and adventures. They would have good times, and bad. But they would be together always. No matter what.
That was 2018. And the minute I woke up, I scribbled it all down as quickly as possible before it was lost to the morning rush.
And it's been a labor of love ever since - although the story's development was definitely hastened by the birth of my beautiful baby daughter, River, to whom the series is dedicated.
Yet, I could only do so much. Not being blessed with any notable artistic talent, the search for an amazing illustrator began. It was a lengthy, painful process. But in the end, when I finally found Misha, it was beyond worthwhile.
He changed the game. It was very hard to describe what I thought talking animal-themed wellies might look like, but from the outset - as you can see with his very first rendering of the four above - he nailed it! And we've been working away happily ever since.
Right now we're in the throes of putting the third book together, and I welcome you to follow us on this joyful journey as I post news and updates on the trilogy both here and on social media.
This has truly been an amazing adventure, one that I hope continues in the heart of every person that picks these books up and enjoys them every bit as much as I have writing them.
